We had the great privilege of having much of our board down to visit in Honduras. It was a great time to strategize, make decisions, create stronger friendships, and a have bit of much needed relaxation. While the board was here, we wanted to do a little something special. So, in honor of them and the 1st house for children being almost done, we had a little mini-dedication with some of our nearby friends and ministry partners. It was a special time to offer the use of the house to God and just spend time with good friends. We have a great group of people to work with in our valley and it was perfect for them and our board to get to know each other better.
We want to thank those members of our board who made the effort to come down and spend this time together. We hope you enjoyed this trip as much as we enjoyed having you.

Our silence this past month has been due to being extremely busy and being away from internet. At the start of September we went into a serious rush with the construction. We had a group from Indiana coming in a few weeks and we needed them to stay up at the Casa de Esperanza property. We had to get all the walls smooth, the bars put in the windows, the floors poured in a couple weeks, enough bunks made for the group, and working kitchens and bathrooms in place. To put the rush into perspective, there were no floors poured in any of the buildings until the final week. We did rent a little cement mixer to help out, so it didn’t all have to be mixed by hand — a big time saver. The last floor to get poured was the hallway in the first house, which happened the day before the group came. To get all this done in a short time we had to double our Honduran work force and most of them sacrificed to work into the night hours to get things done the last week. The beautiful thing is that we got the basics done enough to host a group there, which was a big relief.
