The Great Wall of Rio Viejo

This month we are pouring our energy into building a wall around Instituto El Rey.  That's the secondary school where Jason and I (Sarah) taught the first year and a half we lived in Honduras.  Due to a recent security incident there, it is the right time to make the place more secure. 

This wall, and the future security of the school, are so important for keeping it running strong.  We believe wholeheartedly in what they are accomplishing in the lives of the young people in our area.  They are offering the kids from our valley an excellent and affordable education that is changing their lives for the better. 

The parents are so committed to Instituto El Rey and the education provided that they are volunteering a day of work per student to help us build.  Still though, this project requires a lot of finances.  If you believe in the vision of the school like we do, and like the parents of its students, please consider donating towards this wall.  You can go to our Give Page  and just add a note  to your check or paypal donation that it's for the wall.  Thanks for your support!
